Game Is Hard Level 178 Breakdown
What You See
Four Roman-numeral circles — I, II, III, IV — sit on a dark board. Node III is low and center, and it’s visibly carrying two vertical line segments already. Two more diagonal segments float loose in the top-right, one steeper than the other. The text reads “from one to four.”
The phrase “from one to four” begs to be read as an ordered path (I → II → III → IV), but that’s a red herring. The two lines already stuck to III are the clue that III is a hub, not a stop along a line.
Why You're Stuck
I drew a mental path from I to II to III to IV and tried to bend the lines to follow it, and nothing lit up the way I expected. Then I got all four nodes green by accident — and the level just… didn’t finish. I stared at a fully green board wondering what I’d missed.
The thing that had me stuck was the extra line. I assumed it was a spare, or that both diagonals were interchangeable. It never occurred to me that a line could have a destination that isn’t a node at all, until I finally hit the hint and a ghost circle showed up in the corner.
The Answer
Treat III as the hub. Drag III’s right line down to II, III’s left line up to I, and connect the longer diagonal from III to IV. After all four nodes turn green, place the leftover short diagonal line into the faint circular outline revealed by the hint in the top-right.
How to Beat It
- III to II: grab the bottom of III’s right-hand vertical line and drag it down until it snaps onto node II.
- III to I: grab the top of III’s left-hand vertical line and drag it up to node I.
- III to IV: take the longer floating diagonal (the steeper one) and connect one end to III and the other to IV.
- Place the last line: the shorter, flatter diagonal doesn’t touch any node. Tap the hint to reveal a faint circle top-right, then drag that line into it.
Troubleshooting
- All nodes green but level won’t complete: you’re missing the hidden final step. The leftover short diagonal has to go into the faint outline in the top-right.
- Can’t find where the last line goes: tap the hint (lightbulb). It draws a ghost circle in the empty top-right space — that’s the drop target.
- Lines won’t reach: the two segments inside III are meant to stretch from III outward only. Don’t try to chain I–II–III–IV in a straight path.
Why It Works
The puzzle does two things at once. First it makes you abandon the “sequential order” reading of “from one to four” and realize the answer is a star with III at the center — which is why III already has lines. Then it banks on you treating “all green” as “done,” when the game still has one unused piece. The hidden outline only appears through the hint, so the level is testing whether you’ll actually use the tools the game gives you instead of assuming you’re finished.
The Rule to Carry Forward
When the primary goal looks complete but the level won’t end, scan for any untouched interactive piece — it usually has a second, non-obvious destination.
- A node that already holds lines is the hub; branch everything from it.
- Green doesn’t always mean finished — leftover pieces signal a final hidden step.
- Use the hint when a piece seems to have nowhere to go.
Count the pieces before you start: two lines inside III plus two floating diagonals equals four pieces, but you only use three for the nodes — that spare is your final clue.
Trying to draw I–II–III–IV in a straight sequence. The solution is a hub-and-spoke pattern centered on III, not a linear path.

Game Is Hard Level 178 FAQ
How do I connect the nodes in Game Is Hard Level 178?
Branch everything from III: drag its right line down to II, its left line up to I, and connect the longer floating diagonal from III to IV. All four nodes will turn green.
Why won’t Game Is Hard Level 178 complete after all nodes are green?
There’s a hidden final step. A short diagonal line is left over, and it goes into a faint circular outline in the top-right — reveal it with the hint button.
Does “from one to four” mean connect them in order in Game Is Hard Level 178?
No. It just means all four nodes must be involved. The actual solution is a star shape with node III as the central hub, not a I–II–III–IV chain.
